Halloween

Every year Michael and I get pumpkins and carve them for Halloween. Some years we get them at the pumpkin path, although that has been way too much money. Other years we've picked up grocery store or Home Depot Pumpkins. This year we were smart and picked up pumpkins up North at the Cottage. They are huge and so much cheaper!

We ordered Cadence the cutest black cat halloween costume, but she's still too tiny to fit it. Hard to believe it since she has all this really cute baby chub but she's still catching up. So when I was shopping with my mama Cindy I found the softest sweetest bunny coat, so Cadence used that for her costume and looks so cute!

My Favorite Picture

Most of you who know me know I'm a picture freak! I love to take pictures and I'm getting better but I really need a new lens and some classes. Every once in awhile I really surprise myself and get a shot I love, and this has to be my current favorite.

Nick's Another Year Older

Nick and Jackie have to be our most regular weekend hang outs. We're pretty random with birthday celebrations. This year Michael decided to get Nick a video game for a system that he doesn't own. As a way to encourage him to buy the system for himself!

Now if we could only convince them to have a baby to play with Cadence we'd be set :) Look at those curls Nick has imagine those on a girl so pretty. Anyway I digress, maybe they should start with a puppy it's a lot less work.

Our Niece Ava Turns Two

Our niece Ava turned two this month. It's hard to believe she's two already. I remember waiting for the phone call and checking to see if the baby was coming yet! And then rushing to the hospital to see her within hours of her birth. Michael was post 36 straight hours with no sleep but he was so excited and happy to see his first niece!

She's such a cutie look at her in her princess chair. And of course I had to include pics of Michael and Brian with their baby girls :) Cadence learned at a young age to smile and wave at the camera.

Cadence Has Perfected the Wave

You know how people have these quirks of traits that you associate with them. Well Cadence has been a waver since birth. I've been looking through pictures of the past three months and she's constantly waving with one hand in the air. Even in her professional one month pictures she's got the wave down!

I wonder what sport that qualifies her for. Because whatever coordination that's good for she's got it down. Please don't say cheerleading unless it's competitive cheer! I want to be one of those parents who enjoy watching their children's activities. Michael is pro hockey but I'm not so sure, seems violent for my little baby.

Notice that she waves with both arms, she's not favoring either hand yet. Of course Michael is all geeked about that thinking it will give her an edge :) She's only three months so she has plenty of time to decide for herself what she wants to do.

Fall Cider Mill Trip

Michael and I went on our first date to a cider mill. So every fall it's our tradition to head out to a cider mill and enjoy donuts and hot apple cider. Michigan is huge on cider mills so there are plenty to choose from. Unfortunately for us we picked an uber busy one and Michael was post-call so we didn't stay long. Colleen and Matthew met us. We all ended up going out to dinner after a quick stop. The line was too long to even get anything!

Grass Obsessed

Now for those of you who clicked this and had other thoughts about this post, you won't find any of that here! I"m talking about my kitties and how they are obsessed with getting outside and consuming mass quantities of grass. Then as their tummies get upset they run inside as fast as they can. Find the lightest color of carpet, more than half out house is wood floors, then proceed to throw the grass and some stomach acid up!

We planted planters last summer and they were in heaven. In the center of each planter was a giant clump of grass which they found particularly tasty!

Picking the Godparents

Michael and I went back and forth a bit on the Godparents. We both agreed to keep them in the family. It made since to ask our siblings and I've known forever that my sister would be my childrens Godmother, they'll be in our lives forever. Since Michael has two brothers and we'll be having more than one child we just had to decide who to ask first. Lee seemed to take to Cadence the first time he saw her and she really responded to him so he was the natural choice. They were both accepted and we set the Date for December 22cd when Lee returns to Michigan from Law School.

Tastefully Simple Party

My mom had a Tastefully Simple part at our place. It was a good excuse to get all the ladies of the family out to meet Cadence!

Have you ever tried the stuff? It's so yummy. My cousin Jennifer is a dealer now so I can get restocked at anytime. I was a little dissappointed this party since I'm eating dairy-free which means I couldn't have any yummy keylime ball.

They have this mix called garlic garlic and it is the best dried garlic I've ever tried. A little on some crusty bread with butter, broil for a few minutes and you have the best garlic bread. I would strongly recommend going to one of these parties!

Cadence and Gavin Playdate

Cadence and Gavin are so cute cute together!

They are both drooley and smiley and sitting well propped up. Melissa and I also had a great time just hanging out and doing the mommy thing while the babes played.

Gavin has the most beautiful color of skin. Kyu's traits are definitely there but I think he looks an awful lot like Melissa. And he's so chubby which is so so cute!
